Phillip Tomlinson is an experienced athlete in body movement, with a
Master of Science degree from Columbia University. A former track and field
competitor and soccer player, Phillip has been a senior medical editor and
award-winning reporter as well as a television anchor. As a medical reporter,
he has covered a range of topics – from science and technology to diet,
exercise and sports injuries. He is a karate sensei (teacher) with a fifth degree
black belt, with some 30 years training under legendary Grandmaster Kaicho Tadashi Nakamura – founder of the World Seido Karate Organization. As a tournament competitor on the local and national circuits, Phillip has appeared on ESPN and can also be seen on YouTube as well as local television (video 3:41 in). His experience in body movement resulted in the BodinSync fitness system which utilizes compound exercises to compliment the body’s natural inclinations through the use of weight training, plyometrics, bodyweight and martial arts-inspired routines. A certified member of the International Sports Sciences Association (ISSA), Phillip works one-on-one with clients at his fitness studio in Park Slope, Brooklyn, and on the Upper East Side of Manhattan.
